During Harvey Ellis' brief tenure with Gustav Stickley, endng with his death, Stickley Craftsman designs showed a "lighter note". Ellis introduced curved lower edges to horizontal rails visually softening Stickley's mission designs. His pieces are also distinguished by the use of purely decorative inlays.
